It’s not even an LGBTQ only thing. I’m a cis male with a non English name. I’ve been referred to as “she” many times in emails and other text based communication because people don’t know if my name is female or male and that’s all the information about me that they have. In places where I can put my pronouns in my profile, there is no longer any confusion.
