Musk put a giant X sign on top of the building and it is incredibly brightly flashing, even nights. Hope it gets down, this is stupid. Imagine someone gets a seizure of it or crashes car because it blinded the person.

I want to say “No one should have enough money to be able to endlessly be sued and to drag the court cases on until the victim runs out of money” but the real issue is “justice” systems relying on who has the most money as a deciding factor in who “wins.”

Motherfucker shouldn’t have any special privilege whatsoever.

Apparently city workers investigating were already barred twice from entering. Yet if I was holed up in my apartment refusing to leave after not paying rent, you can bet your ass they would send out tons of jackbooted thugs from the local Police Department to kick down the fucking door and break my legs for thinking I could do that.

So sick of being alive in this shithole fucking country that lets idiot manchildren do what the fuck ever because money. What a fucking farce this life is.

If we’re gonna have the jackbooted thugs (which seems to be a given at this point) the least we can do is start using them against the billionaires.

Everything Musk does seems to be carefully and meticulously crafted to be the biggest asshole alive.

The world would be a net better place if he didn’t exist.

The only way for that to happen is for him to shut up and stop doing shit. Good or bad. Recently it’s only been bad and the dude has gone off the rails so I don’t see him going away any time soon. trump is another one I wish would disappear but they’re both raging narcissists so they’ll never fully shut the fuck up and go away.

Musk has so much money. He will get away with an insane amount. I don’t see that X sign going anywhere.

How fast is it flashing? Unless it’s flashing more than 5 times per second I doubt there is a meaningful seizure risk.

I don’t see how a sign on top of a building would cause a car crash.

I agree the light pollution is annoying, but hyperbole about its effects isn’t helpful.

I think the bigger issue is they somehow prevented anyone from the city from accessing the building for at least two days.

@Corkyskog Isn’t this in his right to decide who can enter the building? I don’t know how the rights are there, but at least here in Germany I can even ask the police to go out of my building.

Businesses don’t have those rights… Well I guess in theory, seems like if no one is actually enforcing things… now they do.

@Corkyskog Hmm here in Germany any business can ask me to leave the building, otherwise they call the police. It’s called the “The domiciliary rights” (used a translator to translate “Das Hausrecht”, so not sure if that is the correct word).

It’s not about a business restricting people, it’s about them restricting local officials, inspectors, etc.

Some of these officials have just as much authority as the police.

It would be like if you opened up a store, then a year later you sold the store and they started selling fireworks or kerosene by the bucket. Then when the fire inspector comes, you just lock the doors and say no, and just keep operating your business. Maybe you hide the kerosene and let them come in 3 weeks later, maybe you just never let them in.

Could you do that in Germany? Because this is essentially akin to that, X could be cooking up pounds of Fentanyl in the basement and no one would be the wiser… hyperbole I know… but you get my point

@Corkyskog Disclaimer: Maybe I’m misinformed, so don’t quote me on this. I had a little coffee-cookies-shop (or whatever its called). As far as I know, I could even ask the police or fire inspector to go out of the building, as part of my rights. Unless they have written permission. But I was never in such a situation. Maybe I’m wrong here.
