The Atrix 4G was one of the first Motorola devices to ship with its Webtop platform. When the phone is placed into its HD Multimedia Dock or Laptop Dock accessories, the user can access an Ubuntu-based desktop featuring access to the phone and its applications via the Mobile View application, integration of Android notifications into the desktop, multimedia playback through Entertainment Center, file management through Nautilus, and the Firefox web browser (along with support for Prism for the site-specific browsers used on Webtop mode).

I never knew it’s “desktop mode” was Ubuntu and not Android.

I have seen people say that phones could replace computers

    How?

They have worse browsers, worse games, less customizability, smaller screens, less input options, worse input and display less information

Could someone please explain to me why phones are considered so good?

Edit: even if this new feature solves 4th, 5th and 6th problems, why use that instead of a computer? You are already sacrificing the mobility

They are probably only so good to more mobile individuals. For those who aren’t in front of their computers often, the mobile device is the preferred option. Each has its merit, but I’m fully in the camp that computers are more robust; however, I do use my phone and tablet more frequently. I highly doubt that phones will replace computers (computers kinda program phones sooo…).
