“I think it’s disgraceful that I came here in good spirit. I love the Black population of this country, I’ve done so much for the Black population of this country,” Trump said.

He’s a parody of himself. If there wasn’t a real threat behind his existence, I’d happily do nothing but laugh at the ridiculousness of his claims.

I like how he said there were “black jobs.” I guarantee you that before someone asked him what black jobs were, he was thinking of things like doorman, shoe-shine boy, bellhop, maid…

Sorry. That’s politically incorrect. The appropriate term for the modern age is “convicted prisoner”

              Funny you say that.

I was in a nasty argument with my mom last night about her use of the racist slur “illegals”. I told her that people can’t be illegal. She replied that shes not a racist and that they’re illegal because they broke the law. I shot back, “oh, so, since you got that speeding ticket, that makes you an illegal?” “No! They committed a felony!” So I said, “oh, so Trump is a 34 times illegal then?”

              She said, “that’s different!”

“Why? Because he’s white? See, that’s why you’re racist.”

She screamed, “fuck you!” and hung up the phone.

She texted me later, saying I was following a “Marxist script”. I texted back, “oh, yeah? What script did Marx write that said brown people were ‘illegal’, but white people weren’t? Was it in the letter to Lincoln praising him for freeing the slaves, or in Das Kapital? Because I must have missed it. Why don’t you send me a copy of where you read that.”

                  She blocked me.

Ooof. I’m so sorry. I’m so sick of what the political discourse in this country has become, and what it’s doing to people.

                    That’s such a shame.

She was upset that you wouldn’t agree to a sane interpretation of her feelings - she’s resolving all cognitive dissonance in her favor, and feels persecuted when others don’t do the same. When instead she just needed to recognize that if verbalized logic made her feelings sound insane, that’s because maybe her feelings are the problem, and those feelings need more, not less, scrutiny.

Pretty sad that people are so far gone…

Are you referring to the good ole days? Back when Bernie was getting the shaft and it was impossible for Trump to win office?

I doubt that I’d have believed the outcome.
