As long as I live I will never fully comprehend it. There should have been a line of honest and wise men a mile long standing behind Cheney on Thursday. But their cowardice, their venality, their shameful abdication of responsibility only served to make this moment in Ripon more powerful.

Don’t throw your back out jerking off Liz Cheney. Just because she doesn’t like the aesthetic of the current fascism doesn’t make her an ally in any way.

She’s an ally in this issue. She’s demonstrating some backbone; many Republicans oppose Trump, but few are willing to speak out for fear of their jobs. That’s what this article is about: the cowardice of the many, and the bravery of a few.

Nobody is saying Liz is a progressive, or any kind of liberal, just that she’s standing up against a bully.

Absolutists are at the core of what’s wrong with American politics today.

If you watched a video of this event you could see emotion in the faces of both Harris and Cheney when they talked about democracy. Especially Cheney. The pained look on her face when the word “democracy” was mentioned nearly choked me up. I don’t agree with any policy of Cheney. AND THAT IS OKAY. Cheney does not agree on any policy of Harris. AND THAT IS OKAY. Harris does not agree on any policy of Cheney. AND THAT IS OKAY. Because this is NOT an ordinary election of Dems vs GOP. Thinking of it that way plays into Trump’s hands. This is a unique event in American history of Democracy vs Fascism. The only thing that Bernie Sanders, Harris, and Cheney all agree on is America’s core values of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law. AND THAT IS ENOUGH.

Frankly, the number of my neighbors currently rocking Trump signs has me frustrated. I’ve lost respect for people that are still willing to stand behind that traitorous bastard. I try not to let politics get in the way of personal relationships usually but, I can’t help it. I know who the brainwashed morons on my street are at least I suppose.

Every single sign I see I say to myself, “You are a monster”. Because that is what voting for him means to me. That you are ok with the things he has done. That you excuse it. That you don’t care. That you have done some mental gymnastics to ignore the truth that he is a monster and by enabling him, you are a monster too.

That’s a common thing living in Illinois anywhere south of Chicago. Not sure how many realize how red Illinois would be if not for Chicago. At least their signs show me who not to respect.

Here in California, there aren’t any signs. I remember who had them in 2016 and 2020, but it’s actually kinda weird to be this deep into an election year with basically no political signs for national candidates.

I don’t just mean the yard signs either. There aren’t even any billboards.

The Cheney’s becoming the good guys is such a fucking twist that should reveal how terrified we should be of maga.

That’s certainly possible, but I think they’re afraid of Trump and the Trump base. Whenever a Republican goes against Trump, he calls them out and his base picks up the message and goes on the attack. Not only are their rivals in primaries supported, they’re also threatened with violence. And, unsurprisingly, even when they’re on the receiving end of Trump’s ire, they will still vote for him:

The fallout “was like a tsunami,” Rogers said in an interview. “There’s people that actually worship Trump like a deity.” He still plans to vote for Trump, dismissing Democrats as too far left.

They’ll call everyone else a radical leftist Marxist, yet they’ll never reflect ‘Did we shift too far to the right?’ It’s such that, I believe, a copy of Ronald Reagan would be labeled a communist by the current Republican party.

They’d definitely call him an antisemite for giving Israel a blank check to bomb Lebanon.

Reagan actually came down hard on Israel. I don’t like basically anything the ghoul did, but I have to give him credit on that one. Israel started to pull some shit, and he shut that down within days.

Cheney’s endorsement is offering Kamala negative votes. Whoever is advising on this should be fired. Also, Tim Miller is the absolutely last person on the planet to take any electoral advice or strategy from, and I personally advocate that he sit on a cactus.

She isn’t supporting any of Harris’s policies. She is saying Trump is a traitor who must never have power. She is putting Country over Party.

How do people not understand that this is not an ordinary election of Dems vs GOP, it is a unique event in history of Democracy vs Fascism? You are playing right into Treason Trump’s hands if you are treating this as an ordinary election.

Tim Miller is the absolutely last person on the planet to take any electoral advice or strategy from

And yet he said the exact 100% correct thing that people were thinking. This was the most important observation of the entire article.

There should have been a line of honest and wise men a mile long standing behind Cheney on Thursday.

Cheney not bringing a single voter with her. Harris has made misstep after misstep after the campaign and this continuously rightwards shift is going to lose the election for her.
