This is incredible and unprecedented. Trumps is basically saying to the world “If you’re a friend of the US, the US doesn’t have any qualm betraying you, so don’t befriend us if you’re smart.”

He died on my birthday, one of the best things I could have asked for.
What’s unprecedented is saying it out loud. Previous presidents pretended the country had firm friendships with other nations. Trump does away with the pretense. No other president has ever done that - possibly because no other president was this dumb.
It used to be that even the dirtiest President worked for America instead of himself.

Didn’t Nixon sabotage Johnson’s Vietnam peace talks and illegally try to gain a personal advantage through watergate? That sounds very against America and for himself.
