Hi folks,

I was using Lemmy for the better part of two years and thought I’d come over to piefed and see what’s up. A few things puzzled me and I’m hoping this is the best place to ask.

  1. It seems all top level comments are locked for replies - is that a server thing? A federation thing?
  2. Scrolling through All, the content just… stops. I’m using the Boost client (maybe that’s why?). I get it if I’m sorting by top hour - there’s only so much posted per hour. But it’s the same for Hot, Scaled, Active, etc.

Edit: looks like both of these are issues with the Boost client. Switching to Summit on Android resolves both.

Thanks for the help!

I don’t know why All would stop like that, it shouldn’t do.

      ip.address - - [24/Sep/2025 23:05:16] "GET /api/alpha/post/list?show_hidden=false&disliked_only=false&limit=25&page=1&saved_only=false&sort=Active&liked_only=false&type_=All HTTP/1.0" 200 -
      ip.address - - [24/Sep/2025 23:05:41] "GET /api/alpha/post/list?page_cursor=2&show_hidden=false&disliked_only=false&limit=25&saved_only=false&sort=Active&liked_only=false&type_=All HTTP/1.0" 200 -

Boost starts using page_cursor after page 1, which got nixed

    1. I don’t see this. Can I get a link to an example?

    2. Is your only experience so far usiing the Boost client?

Looks like both of my issues are on the boost client. Switching to Summit appears to resolve them.

Sorry about that. Piefed just had a new version release last week and part of that included some changes to the api that mobile clients use. Boost has been a bit slower to update than some of the others. It’s unfortunate really, because Boost is my favorite mobile app for lemmy, but the updates can be slow. The good news is that we aren’t planning any more breaking changes to the api going forward, so once Boost is updated, it should continue working.

As an aside, I would also recommend trying piefed as a PWA. It is my preferred way of using it on a mobile device.
