It’s impressive how much testing they do. My guess is Samsung and Google also do a similar amount of tests. Assuming that’s right, it’s incredible how many issues the devices still have. I mean, it’s bending glass so I get it, but still it’s incredible how I feel like these are so fragile even with all this testing
Very interesting they wouldn’t let him film the camera bump… it must have some kind of branding on it like Hasselblad? Or maybe they’ve secretly found a way to have no bump! One can dream…
I honestly thought the same for a little bit, buying a phone with no camera bump is literally all I want… And comboing it with a foldable is a dream scenario for me. This moment @ 2:44 kinda kills the dream though. You can see it’s kind of cocked and it rocks during the video. I just hope one day people realize cameras nowadays are all so similar that we don’t need to keep making bumps 10x the depth of the phone.
I wonder if it’s a periscoping camera bump
If you want optical zoom without major quality loss you either need a camera bump or a thicker phone all around.
Phone had camera bumps before we even had optical zooms
What you say is not untrue, but I think the poster above would be fine with no zoom and only moderate camera(s) if there were no bump. I’m certainly in that boat. Unfortunately, as the first surface duo showed, there’s basically no market for no-bump low quality cameras on decent phones.
You can see the shape here at least:
