The upcoming United States winter looks likely to be a bit low on snow and extreme cold outbreaks, with federal forecasters predicting the North to get warmer than normal and the South wetter and stormier.
This sucks. I like the cold.
I don’t, so I have to constantly remind myself this is not good news.
What do you consider cold?
I put on the insulated covies and carry extra gloves when working outside past -25. Past -35 I only leave the house to feed the cows and hope to hell I’m not chopping out a waterbowl because that’s hard on the fingers. I’ve had to deal with that at -43 and a 20 kph wind. I didn’t enjoy that.

"Oh a little warmer, this climate change stuff doesn’t seem so bad. In fact, it feels quite nice outside!
…Ribbit."
warm, wet winters make me really grumpy… i need brutal cold and fresh, clean air from the North Pole… when it’s warm and wet, the air is always humid, so it just gets foggy and the rain just makes mud everywhere… i hate warm winters…
It’s horrible! It snows infrequently and then it melts after a day or two. It shocks me that there are still people who don’t think the Earth is warming.
Right there with ya. This spring, I moved an hour or so north-northwest, though my primary motivation was escaping the political climate I had been in. Expected to get more wintry winters as part of the deal as well. That seems not to be happening, to say the least. We’ll be in the 70s and possibly 80s until at least Thursday, and I don’t hold out much hope for it to cool down meaningfully.
Warmer…colder… honestly at this point it makes little difference unless we get some form of precipitation.
To be fair, Farley didn’t strike me as the kind of guy who’d have strong ethical concerns with being brought back from the dead through digital fuckery.
He’d probably be flattered, so long as it was funny.
Reminds me of Freddy Mercury
Do whatever you want with my music, just don’t make it boring
