c/Django makes it easier learn about and stay up to date on Django news, projects, and people, with less searching the net.

In the coming days I’ll try to put together some plans for what I hope this community can become, but please don’t hesitate to drop an introduction here and offer your vision of what you would like to see this community become.

As with other Django-adjacent spaces online, we will adhere to Django’s Code of Conduct here as well. Be good to each other.

My fault, I didn’t introduce myself yet :P

Hello everyone, I’m @[email protected] but you can find me with the same name at mastodon.social and pixelfed.social.

Backend developer since Django 1.7 and Python 2.7 were cool, I joined the Python gang back in 2016, but I’ve been coding since 2011 when I learned Ruby by myself and tried to Java in 2014. I’ve been working on this at few companies, even my own (deprecated). I’m really curious and always trying to learn something new.

I’ll start! I’m @[email protected] (and also @[email protected]) and I’ve been working with Django since sometime in 2009 or 2010.

I was lucky enough to land a gig at the Lawrence Journal-World in late 2010, where Django was born! I worked at the LJW’s Mediaphormedia division for about 8 months before it was shut down and we all had to move on. I remember showing up feeling like I knew a few things and going home everyday feeling like I learned a ton from those around me. Since then, I’ve spent time at The Daily Dot, O’Reilly Media working on search for the ebook platform, and now at Elias Sports Bureau where I get to play with sports data all day while helping build the next generation of AccessElias.

And yes, I’ll work on making that logo better when I have a moment!
