To not make your commercial area look dumpy (there is a parking lot and what appears to be a multi-level parking garage right behind the panels). The owner of this commercial area isn’t going to spend 6-digits on panels just to allow their 7-digit commercial area to look dumpy.

There is a parking lot and what appears to be multi-level parking garage right behind the panels. Ain’t nobody putting goats here. The options are: pay to weed trim around thousands of supports on a regular basis or pay to gravel once.
This keeps them from having to run a weed trimmer around thousands of supports. Weed trimmers are the most annoying part of lawn care.

221·před 4 dnynow what
You should replace it with a guardrail. Safety is no joke.
A handrail should go all the way to the top of the stairs. And a guardrail should surround the stairs so you cannot fall into them.
Edit: You are going to get destroyed during the home inspection when you sell the place. You will be putting a handrail and guardrails there at that point.
You can also add half-height sliding closets along the vertical sections of far wall there. It’s a good height for hanging clothes. Punch a hole in the wall, add a new wall further back and add sliding closet doors. Don’t forget to insulate behind your new closet.
Edit: Crawl back behind there first and verify there aren’t studs there. If so, you don’t want to cut through them without a professional telling you if they are structural or there just to back the drywall.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•So... is Iran blocking the Strait thing and then the US is also blocking it? So is it like... double blocked? Is it like "no you can't close the Strait, I'm closing it"?

The US is blockading some traffic, notably Iran’s traffic.

One should not trust economic figures coming from proven unreliable sources. The best measures we have of Chinese economic activity comes from external measures of their international trade, and secondary measures like power usage, lights on at night, etc. Those measurements show China does not report real numbers, China reports propaganda numbers.

news@lemmings.world•Florida pilot sues over multimillion-dollar renaming of airport after Trump, citing safety concernsEnglish
28·před 5 dnyAirport renames are far from new, nor have I ever heard of someone winning a suit about the ‘unsafety’ of renaming an airport.
Edit: Damn Californians renaming Los Angeles Airport twice. How could they care so little about the safety of passengers and air crews?
The extremely drawn out timetable feels like me unloading the dishwasher as a kid, a task which took 30-60 min.
See, the dishes were 6 min, and the rest was watching Dragon Ball Z. :p
Let’s do a dinner for one: Steak and a Veggie
-
Prep time: Pull the steak, veggies, and a pan out (2 min), optionally trim fat (+2 min)
-
Cook time: 10 min. Use this time to add seasonings to the meat/veggies and clean your cutting board if you trimmed fat. Use the same pan for the meat and the veggies.
-
After eating cleanup: 5 min. Clean your 1 pan, 1 spatula, 1 fork, 1 knife, 1 plate. (even less time if you have a dishwasher)
Total cooking and cleanup time: < 20 min
I have no clue how you would take 30 min just to prep. Or, how you would take 30 min to pan-fry this steak (are you eating pure ash by then?!), and another 30 min to clean a pan, spatula, fork, knife, and plate.
Furthermore, it would take even more time to go out and order a steak. You are saving time by cooking this steak yourself.
-
I have, on several occasions, realized I was waiting longer for ‘fast food’ than it takes to make the food myself at a quarter the price. ‘Fast food’ is no longer fast or cheap, which were pretty much the only two things it had going for it.
Assuming you have … appliances to cook and prepare the food
An inexpensive toaster oven and hot plate is all you need to make anything. The money you save in the first week of buying groceries instead of eating out will more than pay for those two appliances. Every week thereafter is more money in your pocket to put toward debt, fun, etc.
If you are buying groceries, you are spending more efficiently than half of America.
Groceries are 3x-4x cheaper than eating/ordering out.

“In February 2023, the IAEA reported having found uranium in Iran enriched to 84%…the Iranians have been openly enriching uranium to 60% purity, a breach of the 2015 nuclear deal.” Source that also contains a shitload more details and sources out the ass.
You generally enrich to 3% - 5% for nuclear reactors, with some designs asking for up to 20%. Iran enriching Uranium to 60% and 84% isn’t for reactors…

Love to see that even with the new pro model, you can upgrade your existing Framework 13 mainboard/other components and get the new features. Gotta hand it to Framework: A standardized hardware design works great for laptops.
