If your manager won’t hear anything negative about Vibelord, polish up your resume. There’s nothing you can do to change the culture of your team if the boss isn’t on board with it.
Not sure what kind of person your boss is, but if you want to try to win him over, try to figure out what might sway him. If he’s technically illiterate, talk to him about best practices (like, I dunno, code reviews) and cite reliable sources and data if you think that would help. Avoid calling out Lord Vibington, the main thing is to put a picture into your boss’s head of what this could/should look like. He might not realize that these issues are preventable.
The goal here is to get your boss to take more ownership of the team’s culture, and start insisting on preventative measures. Mr Viberator will either have to conform, or there will be increasing friction between him and the boss.
Is it a laundromat if it’s not autoMATic? Cool either way.

Probably.
1.5 caf
When I brew coffee, I use half regular grounds and half decaf. There are some roasters that make half caf, but it’s easy to mix it yourself.
I’m in Ontario, I’ve been drinking Kicking Horse lately and it’s decent.

I tend to do the same thing. “Well if you didn’t want a half hour introduction to color theory, why did you ask an unrelated question?”
I… might have the tism…

Half-caf, three cups per day (about 150mg total).

NZ wins again

dessalines is known for questionable moderation. Avoid the .ml communities when possible.
Conservatism, by definition, wants to keep things the way they are. And the only way to hold that view is if you ignore, deny, or dehumanize those for whom the current system isn’t a problem.
So when we as a society identify systemic issues, conservatives will always be opposed to fixing them. It’s the heart of their ideology.
Not trying to beat a dead horse, I’m mostly posting this for other readers to understand why they and you have experienced stuff like this.

Can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone doing this–if anything, those in trans or queer spaces have been most accepting of name changes regardless of gender, in my experience. So I can’t imagine this is a terribly unpopular opinion.

Furries. No hate, just not even remotely interested.
What in the 1999 did I just read?

After all, why shouldn’t I build the torment nexus?
Yeah, I think the somatic and verbal components were supposed to give away casters (making the sorcerer’s Subtle Spell incredibly valuable socially), but it seems like a lot of DMs ignore or minimize it. But yeah, things like a simple persistent Detect Magic field, especially in critical areas, would make perfect sense. In a high magic setting, every vendor having a trinket that grants them Detect Magic continuously wouldn’t be out of the question.
Listen man, just be happy they didn’t bring anti-magic field grenades.
For real though, even in settings that aren’t high magic, it would be reasonable that law enforcement would have something to neutralize magic. You think you’re the first spell-slinging murder hobo to come through here?

Your experience was likely less miserable.
That’s an interesting idea, but may suffer from the all-too-familiar programmer art (that is, most programmers aren’t great at art).
In its simplest form, it probably wouldn’t be difficult to use something like emojis to indicate state. Honestly wouldn’t be that hard to code. After a quick search, I even found a guide on how to do almost exactly what you’re looking for.
