Butchering animals isn’t cruel. We avoid them suffering as much as possible when doing so.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Have you ever loved somebody so much that you gave zero consideration to desiring anyone else, even in passing?
1·3 days agoThank you for your vocabulary too.😂 “Parental” is still off but not by a lot. I am far from old enough to be her dad, but a big brother I would accept the deal. “I do”, haha.

2·4 days agoTo be honest too, I don’t know. I just know that I love (or whichever word you assign meaning to) her a lot. I want her to be happy, but I don’t want to have sex with her, nor do I want to have a formal romantic relationship with her.
I would like to emotionally, financially, or non-financially (like as simple as help pick up a parcel for example) contribute to her and ask for absolute no reciprocation.
If she eventually has a relationship with some one else, my heart would hurt a lot, but I would still be happy for her.

1·4 days agoCan’t someone asexually desire someone else?
The style had changed to me.
It doesn’t. The wad of cash you have in your pocket determines your power in a negotiation. You don’t have to say a damn thing.
You don’t really have to defend yourself, sir. Staying silent is totally acceptable and not treated as admitting.
It takes ten seconds for him to question you, but to prove your manual work you spent at least ten minutes, no? There are more important things to do.

NetBSD@lemmy.sdf.org•Rust in the Kernel, and other odd decisions
1·12 days agoIn general, the bootstrap relies on a binary package of the previous version. This is unacceptable for an otherwise source-only, self-contained distribution like the NetBSD sources.
But how is C different in this regard?

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Mecha Comet - Modular Linux Handheld Computer (Currently on Kickstarter)
2·14 days agoThank you for calling this kind of behaviour out, but hopefully you can see I was mimicking OP’s “I don’t need it” self-convincing speech, by being his “angel on the shoulder”. It was done in a joking manner, and I apologise to any one who interpreted it in another way.

3·15 days agoGreat! Go for it then.
I don’t know what’s LoRa though, but can’t you just plug an Arduino board to the computer’s USB port and get a bunch of GPIOs? It’s cheap. It’s durable.

112·15 days agoNo. You don’t need it.
Just get a used ThinkPad for work, and whichever handheld game console if you want to play while on a trip.
Run Linux on ThinkPad. It’s open source too.

31·23 days agoAgreed. In the old days everyone knows what to do with a zip of MP3 files. These modern day “technology” has been making people dumb. It sucks.
