Congrats. What exercises did you do? My physical therapist had me to sideways banded walks and banded reverse hypers to strengthen my hips.
I learned about Tape to Tape recently which looks awesome, but it seems to be under heavy development still so I may wait until I’m ready to actually start playing before buying.
Sounds a lot like me! Except I’m further behind on steady state cardio too. I do CrossFit 1-2 times a week, it’s been fun learning olympic lifting for a new challenge. Come to think of it, CrossFit is really good about filling in a lot of the aspects of fitness that traditional powerlifting often ignores. Even the stretching at the beginning of class has been helpful for me, but I also started doing yoga do which was great for mobility.
Awesome. Do you enjoy running? I’ve been doing CrossFit for conditioning, which has helped me get in more cardio than ever before because it’s the only kind I don’t hate.
Nice, that’s a huge PR. I’ve been taking a break from competitive powerlifting and have really enjoyed CrossFit the last couple years believe it or not. There’s still lots of strength work but lots of cardio too.
Right on, congrats and thanks for explaining
Ok but what does “sent a 6b bouldering problem” mean?
wait, what?
That sounds awesome.
Nice! By “off” do you mean not lifting or reducing the load?
I’ve learned many lessons where I told my coach I don’t need a deload only to discover a week later how awful I feel and very much do need a deload.
Imagine how much space the handles will take up in a backpack
Seems like deadlifting and RDLing on the same day might solve your issue
Doesn’t seem like splitting off the discussion into two subs would help at this point. Strength and hypertrophy is a large part of fitness. What is the benefit of dividing the user base like this?
Agree, pull push legs makes the most sense. That said, once you get to a certain level of strength, deadlifting twice per week just may not make sense anymore no matter what you do.
If you were in the US I would guess that during normal times you could find a job that pays $90-100k + benefits.
It’s not an exact comparison, I’m a front end person with a lot of Drupal experience, probably less php and js experience than you, and my agency pays really well, but I was hired at $108k and earn $118k now, + about 15k in benefits, to give you a rough idea.
You might be able to find a remote job in the US but it will be tough, the time difference is hard, plus the added expense of employing someone in another country, plus the massive uncertainty around the US economy right now will be challenging. Worth a shot, but I think it’s definitely worth trying to find something better in the UK.
Are you in the US? You should be making way more than that if so
13 reps is still pretty good!
Wow, finally found something that combines my two loves
I have a silicone cup like this that works pretty well: https://a.co/d/3nabYyx
I also have tumblers without a top from the brand Brumate that work amazingly, but they cost more than $20 retail. I’ve gotten them for cheaper at discount stores and on sale at their website.
