They may not do everything the way you want (although your bringing party affiliation into makes your motives seem pretty transparent) but Edinburgh the City generally runs very well - services are provided, children learn, roads are mended, grass is cut, buses run, traffic is managed, etc, etc.

    Is it perfect? Of course not. Is it “incompetent”? Not by any stretch of the imagination.

    I’m only amazed you resisted lobbing in a “Clowncil” reference.

    As for Gorgie Farm it’s a shame it’s not open, but unless you’ve been privvy to the detailed ins and outs of the process, I’d suggest you are, at best, operating from a position of limited knowledge.

    Very likely it’s down to money, and councils are generally skint - not least because of the long freeze (imposed by Holyrood) on their ability to increase tax revenue.
