    He might be happy about defeating communism, but he wouldn’t be happy about getting cozy with Russia.

    My grandfather was happy to win WW2, but he never bought a German or Japanese car, you know? Also, he didn’t use the words “German” or “Japanese”, but that’s another story…

        And nowadays if it’s a CUV or SUV it’s probably as much made in America as any of the American brands.

        I grew up in Detroit and my parents owned some of the only VWs (old Bugs and a Bus). They got some shit for it in the 70s-80s, but nothing like my aunt got when her dad (an engineer for Chrysler and lifelong devotee) bought her a ‘59 beetle in ‘59. The jocks at her school rolled it on its roof.
