For me, that bypassed the email account linking altogether.
I can assume that the region may make a difference
This was in Seattle.
Mine was in the EU, and with a language restricted version, too
I believe this does not work for Home. You can bypass it in Pro like this though. Unless something has changed I am not aware of.
