Ive only recently made the switch. Question for you guys. You know how there’s often multiple copies of the same ‘sub’ on different instances. Do you subscribe to them all or just 1 copy on an instance that you like?

I’m enjoying lemmy overall. Feels like reddit 15 years ago. I just sometimes wish there was a little more content getting posted.

I subscribe to them all and browse just my subscriptions. I often don’t even care about the community the post comes from.

You actually had a similar issue on Reddit with separate but closely related subs (if you’re interested in Linux, for example, there were multiple subs for Linux in general, gaming, “for noobs” which was interesting also for experienced users, memes etc).

Good point. Do you not get your feed filled with loads of crossposts/ duplicate content?

I don’t but now that you mention it, that’s actually surprising. I guess, Lemmy is still small enough that cross-posting isn’t that much of an issue. That may change though.

Usually I just go with the most active/largest one. If there are multiple active I either sub to both or whichever one comes from the smaller instance to help keep lemmy diversified.

Well, that’s a problem that’s within your power to fix! Start posting!

The trick isn’t to lean on subscriptions, scroll through all-scaled for more varied posts.
