minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish9•1 month agoCame here to say the same thing. Automatic knife sharpeners that aren’t utter garbage knife ruining devices are very expensive. A whetstone and learning to use it is much cheaper.
Knife sharpening is not an obscure or obsolete skill where I am. I believe that every guy I know has some sort of set up for it - even if it’s just a commercial Vee pull sharpener.
It amazes me how many people I know who prepare food with blunt knives.
I live in a place where we still rough sharpen shovels.
