No, not yet. It’s a good likeness but I can’t get the badass kindness in his expression. Mine is just too intense and I’m not sure why. Plus the eyes are too big and a few other proportional things. What else am I missing?

I feel like the painting looks more like my brother than Mr. Jackson.

Someone didn’t measure for this one.

I think the biggest issue with the expression is that you turned him completely en face and tilted the head down. Just compare the proportions of nose-to-chin and forehead in the picture and painting. That’s why he went from chill to “paint my face one more time motherfucker!!!”

LMAO! I think the sketch I did first was pretty close and as I painted I got further and further away and didn’t notice until I was done. I’m trying to just use one layer like a traditional painter would and it floated away from me one at a time. I made marks for chin, eyes, mouth, ears, and so on along with the sketch.

Normally I’d step away from the painting and come back and fix and go again (trying to mirror Pablo Picasso), but as I’m practicing for these painting sessions I won’t be able to do that so I’m trying to find a new technique (like Tigger Woods did for his golf swing) that will work in those sessions and I’m struggling.
