Do folks find raw copper practical to carry? I’m interested in the Convoy T3 copper because (I think) it’s coated so no patina would develop. But I understand the metal changing is desirable to some.

I find copper too heavy for practical carry. Raw copper also creates a bad odor on my hands.

My copper AAA Lumintop Tool weighs 83% more than my Aluminium version. (both with battery inside)

My copper FWAA weighs 75% more than the Aluminium model. (both with battery inside)

I do not carry either of those lights in Copper. I started with the copper AAA model, when I was infatuated with the idea of Copper, Then I got the AA sized FWAA but I quickly learned that I did not like the extra weight in my pocket.

Practicality depends on your preference. It’s heavy, some people say it stinks. But scratches don’t make it look ugly and it ages nicely with time.

Thanks. Good point about scratches - also makes me think that when the T3 coating scratches the metal could be exposed, leading to patina in those spots only.

I have two copper lights and hate carrying them both. My daily is a Convoy T3 Ti. I like the patina and the look of a copper light but I hate the smell and copper is a soft metal so drops really show up. The Ti has been through hell and shows almost no signs of wear.
