I suck at souls but it reminds me that I was 50 hours in Elden Ring before I discovered you can run 😅 it was a bit hard without running indeed, I can see how someone skilled could do that as a challenge
Took me about that long to realize you could fast travel. Me and Torrent were just chilling running everywhere. Then it took me that long again to figure out you can fast travel to the surface while underground by changing the map.

But for real, Elden Ring is so scenic that I wouldn’t be mad if there was no fast travel or only limited fast tavel points between areas.
I’ve been playing the souls games since Demons Souls on PS3. It’s crazy how they started with relatively simple combat and janky movement back then and now they expect up to perfectly dodge 15-hit screen filling combos from the bosses.
