      The ducted fans was a TDIL moment for me. For some reason, I was under the impression that the arena was of a ferric metal, and that the competitors where using permanent magnets to increase the down force and static friction with the track.

        Upon reflection, using magnets probably would’ve resulted in wasted energy towards shifting Eddy currants, losing valuable speed and acceleration.

          For me I just thought they added extra weight. I’m no physicist or engineer, but on reflection, this would’ve made it worse due to inertia.
