Letting you know that if you enter the link into the url box when making a post people can go to it from the post feed. Also the hashtags dont do anything on lemmy (the posts do get federated over to mastodon but mastodon just has a link to the post rather than the post content)
I post this stuff to, like, 9 different social media feeds. There’s a lot of cut once, paste everywhere else. I’ll adjust the links but not recognizing hashtags is a defect here. I’m not super keen on them, but they’re a defacto standard.
If you’re posting to 9 different platforms then it’s on you to recognise and respect the nuances between the technical implementations and community expectations of each.
