Love is a strong word. Hate it less is more accurate.
That being said, Shut Up 10 is great.
Windows is actually really good, you just have to know how to work with it.
You CAN have a lot of control over it. Not as much as your average linux distro, but still a lot more than any MAC.

My technics earbuds briefly connecting to my MacBook and my MacBook proceeding to launch an Apple Music sign up screen over whatever I’m working on in the 5 seconds between me turning music off on my phone and putting my earbuds away says otherwise. Apple are assholes too. They’re subtler about it than Microsoft but also much, much smugger.

And they did indeed start going through your files, they say they’re only doing it to check for CP, but lots of people who just had pictures of their own kids had false pedo-accusations thrown at them because of an AI that scanned and mis-identified completely legal content as something it wasn’t.

registry tweaks are way more powerful than changing your settings in the UI of the settings app. Group policy editor is the same way.
Like I said. Windows is great, you just need to know how to use it.

That doesn’t answer the question, they asked if it’s open source. I agree, I don’t want to replace one sketchy data-harvesting service with another, I’d be a lot more comfortable giving shutup10 control of my system if it was on github or gitlab.
Hmm. I wasn’t able to find it on github, but I use chris titus tech tip’s debloat script which also uses the o&o software.

I had a look at that and it appears to be maintained as WinUtil now (https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil). It looks like it only uses some config parameters from o&o, I gather for the recommended settings etc. Either way, it looks pretty decent and given that its powershell its pretty easy to make changes if you need too. I’d definitely go down that route rather than using that o&o software.
