I’m currently testing Fedora KDE on a VM (windows host) before eventually switching over to Linux completely.

I want to use gnome, but I keep missing my start menu, so I’ve settled with kde.

I know I can mod gnome to look like windows, but I don’t want to put the effort in just for gnome to break it with an update

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
