Elon Musk, owner of social media platform X, is considering removing the service formerly called Twitter from Europe in response to a new internet platform regulation in the region, news site Insider reported on Wednesday.

I hear Zuck once threatened to pull Meta out of the EU too. Musk is a real man though. No joke, he can probably be goaded to do it, just like how he got baited into buying Twitter in the first place.
EDIT: Am dumb, I assumed the post was related to the ChatControl passing. It’s not. Apparently there are other EU laws that are actually consumer friendly, which he is upset about.
And this is how it ended up. Meta has ChatControl already voluntiarily implemented for the last year or so.
Currently a regulation is in place allowing providers to scan communications voluntarily (so-called “Chat Control 1.0”). So far only some unencrypted US communications services such as GMail, Facebook/Instagram Messenger, Skype, Snapchat, iCloud email and X-Box apply chat control voluntarily (more details here). source
