    I would be absolutely shocked if the mods have a leg to stand on legally. It’s almost certain that the site/account EULA has the legal equivalent of “reddit can do whatever it wants” as one of the clauses.

    All that said, reddit will die without mods providing free work so it’s going to come down to how good a job the suckers they hand the subs to do. For my money I’d bet if you thought the current mods are a bunch of power tripping assholes you ain’t seen nothing yet. Anyone who actually cared about maintaining a good community and good content will have already fled the site, so it’s likely the ones still sticking around see this as an opportunity to take over popular subs that they wouldn’t have been allowed within 100 feet of previously.
