I don’t think most people are on 802.11ax/WiFi 6 yet. I’m using the ISP-provided Eero equipment and it’s 802.11ac and perfectly fine for me. The last piece of hardware I bought for myself years ago was an ac combo device and it’s been working great for whatever random purpose I have. I don’t think anyone is clamoring for more.
I think what most people need for improvement is better meshing and mesh roaming.
