Sun peeks through thin clouds,
Green whispers promise warmth to come,
Winter lingers still.

A lone crocus blooms,
Ignoring frost’s reluctant kiss,
Hope paints the cold ground.

Chirp, hesitant song,
Birds test the air, unsure yet,
Will spring truly bloom?

Earth sleeps under snow,
But dreams of sun-kissed meadows green,
Barely spring’s soft breath.
