Hey everyone. We are now at 500 subscribers after just about 2 months! Not too bad for the early days of Lemmy! I’m excited to continue seeing this community grow 🚀 🚀 🚀

Additionally, I’d love to hear from folks about what you would like to see more of, less of, and generally share any ideas for ways we can better create discussion as a community?

Lastly, depending on the feedback, it might be nice to have another mod or two. There isn’t much content that needs moderation at the moment, but if we look into having more consistent Match Threads and pinned discussion topics, another mod or two could help! If you are interested, let me know in the comments section and mention briefly why you are interested.

Thanks everyone! #YNWA

I think looking at the start of the season we should have enough regular posts and threads enabling discussion. Going forward, I would say the focus should remain true to Lemmy: quality before quantity. And in my personal opinion, football is more than the sport itself, so I’m a fan of highlighting backgrounds, politics etc.

I would gladly support this as a mod!

Thanks for setting this up! Daily discussion threads could be nice, maybe based on the current size weekly ones make more sense, but that’s just my two cents

Great idea. I think you’re right, daily might be too frequent given our size. I like the idea of weekly though. Maybe we can give that a shot next week and see how it goes!

Once the season kicks of, themed threads may be more useful: So post match, pre match, tactics, transfer discussion.

The daily threads in the old place are just people working each other up into a frenzy by being angry all the time.

Great points. Agreed on grouping the threads into appropriate themes as well. I like keeping the discussions organized

          Appreciate the feedback!

I think we could adopt the (seemingly) well working list of allowed sources from /r/liverpoolfc. It’s not really an issue yet but eventually will be, so why not be proactive and not reinvent the wheel. And thanks for getting the community started!

Great shout. I’ll take a look at that list. Right now, it might be a little too early, since we don’t have a lot of posters, but building a set of allowed sources is definitely a nice proactive idea.

One thing I’ve been trying not to do (or do less of) is post Twitter links, since I know lots of folks don’t have twitter access anymore. That usually means I end up posting news from a source like This Is Anfield, that basically is repeating a Twitter post. Its not a great source, but seems more accessible for everyone.

If you mean unregistered access, I think that is back to how it was before, so everyone can access - in principle at least, unless there’re some quirks or regional restrictions on content…
