Favorite mech from MechWarrior 2! I should just get into BattleTech, how’s the franchise these days?
The tabletop game seems to be doing well, only behind Warhammer 40k, afaik. Mechwarrior 5 has been met with mostly positive reviews, if you want the experience of actually piloting a mech. Mechwarrior Online is still around, pretty much unchanged since 2013, every mech has a free, non customizable version you can pilot.
For a tactical PC game very akin to the tabletop, BATTLETECH is the most recent, with fuckloads of DLC.
The BattleTech PC game also has fantastic mods that add tons of Mechs, vehicles, and historic events from the setting.
I recommend playing with YAML if you like customizing things.
Paradox or EA?
Made by Harebrained and… yeah, published by Paradox. GOG link https://www.gog.com/game/battletech_game
75% off at the moment too. Guess I’ll be adding that to the library.
Oh this brings back memories!

It’s a Timber Wolf from Battletech/MechWarrior also known as a Mad Cat because on radar, it would flicker between Marauder (MAD), and Catapult (CAT).
Wow, I casually enjoyed the video games and just thought that the name of that mech was Madcat, had no idea about the whole story. Battletech/Mechwarrior lore is intense.
A universe where the real “owner” of humanity is
ComcastComstar, yet nobody fights them head on, because they control all interstellar communication, which is why the game’s money is called Comstar Credits, or c-cred. Each 1 credit = 1 millisecond of priority when using their net.C-bills, but close enough. Also, eventually technology becomes a religion, then a splinter sect of the religion takes over and kills a whole lotta people.

Metal Gear Kitten
I for one welcome our new cat overlords
Why have your cat use just a normal box when you could have a cat in a MECHABOX instead?
