    I always feel bittersweet when I think about the voyager missions.

    We’ve cared for and loved these spacecraft for generations, seeing them break bonds that we never knew we could break. That care and tending has shown us how far we can reach out if we try.

    I fear humanity is at a point where we’re looking at the ground. Trapped in a web of capitalism, and perhaps soon, a web of broken low earth satellites. Too interested in fighting over ideals and artificially scarce or mismanaged resources than we are working together.

      They might not get the press coverage that the Voyager missions did, but we’re still doing (and planning) cool things in deep space. Just look at New Horizons, JWST, DART, Perseverance and Ingenuity, OSIRIS-REx, Psyche, Europa Clipper, Dragonfly, Uranus Orbiter…

      As the cost of launches continues to come down, I am hopeful that the decreased barrier to entry will result in an increase in cool space missions.

    I love voyager 1(and 2 but you know…). Built and launched long before I was born. Has been doing its mission for so long and into unknown space. Hang in there buddy.
