If you observe closely you can see Microsoft CEO sprinting to sign the “AI is dangerous and needs to be regulated so only big companies can use it” petition.

Not entirely, because those generic keys are still needed to do the upgrade and after upgrading you could use something like the Microsoft Activation Scripts to fully activate the upgraded windows.

Still darn useful IMO. Purchasing a version upgrade from the MS store is typically cheaper than buying a retail key bundle. Plus the people who would just as readily use this as an in to verify their windows edition in unofficial ways.
You don’t need a licence key to install the limited version of Windows though you can just click I don’t have a license key and it lets you do it
Why bother pirating a version of windows that’s missing features when you can just install Linux or BSD for free?
Probably because of Windows exclusive software. When an art student friend asked me to install Linux on her laptop I told her she shouldn’t go for it because she’ll have a massive headache as soon as her teacher asks her to install photoshop. Don’t get me wrong I love Linux and the BSDs, but there are certain use cases where they’re not the right choice.
