TIL chitin is not just a made up Morrowind word and actually makes sense as armor padding.
I had no idea mushrooms had it, but it’s what insect carapaces are made of.

Japanese は is pronounced “wa” when used as the topic particle (as it is in the example), but still written “ha”

Enoki mushrooms are also called “see you tomorrow mushrooms” for the same reason.
However I always chew my food so I’ve never noticed it.
