Can someone explain this? Steam turbine can’t consume steam, because it’s blocked by this.

I don’t play oni, but irl if your steam is 100°C then it can’t heat adjacent water without condensating (the heat has to come from somewhere). I’m pretty sure oni has such a model. Also think of pressure, if the entire chamber is full of pressurized steam then it won’t be able to evaporate more steam into it because the boiling temperature at that pressure will be so high.

Irl, salt water is also harder to boil. Maybe this is just incredibly saline water and the boiling temperature is simply really really high?

A saturated brine solution (about 28% salt by weight) boils at 109°C. In industrial applications, steam temperatures typically range from 200°C to 550°C.

Is the ladder acting like a heat sink and it just hasn’t heated up enough yet? How hot is the steam/ladder?

Steam has 109°C, same as ladder and conveyor rail

I see there is a solid in the bottom left fluid block. That might also be acting like a heat sink too. Whats the mass/temperature/material of that solid? Also the big coal chunks? I’m guessing they’re still in the process of getting heated up.

Also, I think the minimum temperature for steam turbine inputs is 125? I think for maximum efficiency you also need at least 200C w/ all 5 vents open.

My point is that you probably want your system quite a bit hotter anyways.

Alright, after some cycles water started to slowly heat up. I guess I’ll just wait. Anyway, thanks!

Where is the salt water coming from?

It was there before steam was generated. The room is sealed, so there is no way for new salt water to appear inside.
