Not sure Im ready for one of these ‘internal combustion’ cars I keep hearing about. Until they can sort out the risk of the flammable liquids you have to put in them from catching fire it seems too dangerous and impractical.

    Not really. Fully mechanical belt/chain driven oil pumps have been around for decades and are extremely reliable. This is just shitty and needless over-engineering.

    Lithium batteries are way, way more dangerous and volatile.

      Electric oil pumps are not over engineering. They are intended to improve the efficiency of gas engines. They are a desperate attempt to compete with EVs which have less fires than gas vehicles already.
