Communities can only be created on Lemmy.one by an administrator. While we figure out the direction we want this instance to go in, in terms of moderation, we are curating the communities hosted here on this instance, to avoid duplicating the efforts of other communities on Lemmy and ensure we’re only offering unique, high-quality content.
If you moderate a Subreddit with 50K+ subscribers and would like to create your community here on Lemmy.one, please message u/JonahAragon on Reddit.
If you have another idea for a community, you can reply to this thread with your proposal for consideration. Lemmy.one and the Lemmy federation as a whole is still quite small, so communities can’t realistically get as granular as they are on Reddit yet, try to think broadly and we’ll go from there. Include whether you’d be interested in moderating your proposed community too :)
You can of course always create a community on any other Lemmy instance if you are not able to create one here, and users here can follow communities from any other Lemmy instance as well.
Is lemmy.one going to update 1.8?
If you wouldn’t mind; I would like to create a community for genderqueer folks like myself; titled
genderqueer
additionally if any additional moderator help is needed; I’d be glad to pitch in…many redditors are looking mighty pissed off now and may join us on the lemmyverse.
feel free to ping me on reddit if needed. /u/Zazie_Lavender on reddit
Sent you a PM on Reddit :)
Just curious why the PM via reddit? Are PMs via lemmy not a thing yet?
PMs via Lemmy are a thing, but if you’re an existing Subreddit mod I want to verify that on Reddit :)
I would have sworn I saw another thread for this elsewhere since joining but I’m not finding any communities on lemmy.one or elsewhere with a focus on goth-industrial music. I’m still getting into the swing of how to use Lemmy but I wouldn’t be opposed to helping run it since I’ve done on other sites before.
I found one for goth metal https://lemmy.world/c/gothicmetal by browsing on https://browse.feddit.de/
Some general categories could be useful for local posting. While I’m aware this is a privacy related instance; I wouldn’t mind seeing a general post category or two; and we could leave out the polarizing things like politics.
Can we have a community for mongodb? Alternatively, maybe something like c/noSQL so other no SQL engines can be included?
theres this one https://lemmy.world/c/mongodb
Thanks!
I can’t find a community for cigars anywhere, and I miss it from Reddit. While I’m not an expert, I do enjoy discussing thoughts and recommendations. No idea if it would fit here but I’d like to see it somewhere.
I would like to request creation of Scotland and Edinburgh communities, I’m reasonably confident that I can persuade people to join up to them as the internal dissatisfaction of (at least) the /r/Edinburgh users seems quite high
Edit. I am willing to moderate both
Could we get a community for Amoled wallpapers and also the berserk anime/manga series?
i would like to start a /c/valetudo (https://valetudo.cloud) community for rooted and rooting vacuum robots.
and i can do mod as well
id like to create a captain of industry community! AFAIK there isnt any in the fediverse. id also be okay with moderating it!
Hi @[email protected] , I already sent you a message but just came across this post and realized I probably should have posted here first.
Could you possibly create a community for fans of the The Privacy, Security, and OSINT Show podcast? I know a lot are unhappy with Reddit’s rection actions and would probably move here. I would be happy to moderate it and will also be posting summaries of each podcast as they drop for archival purposes. Given this is a privacy-focused instance, I think it would be a great home.
Feel free to message me here or send a PM to my through Reddit where my username is
ThrowAwayAccount-_-_
if you have any questions. Thanks!DM’d you here.
I’ve looked around and can’t find anything here or on other instances relating to audio engineering and post production. If there were some I’d be happy to make some tutorials and other posts to get it started
I found this one https://lemm.ee/c/audioengineering I used https://browse.feddit.de/ to search for it
I’m liking the idea of lemmy.one currently being an instance with just the 3 comms and it’s really a starting point to view the rest of the lemmyverse. with the current hug of death plagueing lemmy(dot)ml this will hopefully be a good way to add stability
This is exactly why I came to Lemmy one. After browsing around and seeing the bigger instances getting absolutely wrecked by refugees, I found Lemmy one, saw it had next to no communities but a reasonable user count, not tiny but not huge. Realized that would probably be the sweet spot for myself, and would support the idea of load balancing the Lemmy instances, instead of everyone flocking to Lemmy ml and beehaw.
Glad to be here, seems like a reasonable instance with an admin who has their head on straight
