Would it be possible to see posts filtered as the fake image suggests? I’d like to be able to filter posts by subject as well as by subscription and, maybe, create my own filters, like: posts from my instance AND to communities I’m subscribed to AND mention MyFavouriteSubject.

I intentionally used a different font to give emphasis to changes. Also didn’t want to try and fail to mach the used font.
Dont think there’s accurate tagging of posts going on, so no reliable way for the filtering to be accurate.

#Lemmy apparently has no concept of hashtags, but when you write a post it’s still a good idea to write hashtags because kbin & mastodon users can search by hashtag and find your post.
I understand this is not your intent, but the question might help clarify your intent:
Why don’t you visit a specific community which is dedicated to your keyword of interest? How would that be different from what you want?
I suppose they’re thinking something akin to hashtags vs accounts. Like a technology post may also be about politics for example

and also, if communities have hashtags in their description, one could aggregate them by hashtag. thus solving the problem of duplicates communities across multiple instances.
Well… I thought of listing all posts related to technology (for example) grouping Linux, free software, open source… there are many communities dedicated to each of those. It would be useful to group them together for quick access.

No, grouping by tag is currently not supported.
The feature request pops up frequently, and there are corresponding open issues on GitHub.
I would also like to have this. I’m not sure how soon if ever it gets implemented.

Actually, I would place the “Subscribed” button as another layer, or remove it completely since it might only make sense to filter subscribed communities… (does it?)
Also I would add a “New filter” option to the menu.
I understand this change would need a great deal of work to be implemented since to create a filter one would have to have access to several filtering options: add one or several communities to search in, add keywords (or hashtags - but, please, see @[email protected]’s answer) to include, maybe certain users…
Would it be realistic to implement some kind of language like: “keyword -unwanted AND (keyword OR keyword) AND community:!comunity@instance AND user:@user@instance …”?
