A potential scenario might be a few groups of federated servers hard left: hexbear, lemmygrad, lemmy.ml servers that block the first group, because they think it’s better: e.g. blahaj server who will federate with everyone: lemm.ee, reddthat, etc. And I guess it’s okay. People can move their subscriptions in two clicks anyway, it’s easy to change instances
