Dog owners could not care less. They’ll walk past three signs saying “no dogs allowed”, step over caution tape cordoning off a grass field in repair, and let their dogs run around off leash. And if you ask them politely to leash their dogs, they lose their fucking minds.

Cities have different parks meant for different purposes, this one is an athletic park meant for sports, and there are 2 dog-friendly parks within a 15 minute walk from that neighborhood, but the people complaining don’t want to have to walk that far…
So many dog owners are asshats.
I say this as someone who’s had dogs, worked with rescues to help socialize them as best as possible, done obedience competitions, volunteered with my vet when they’re short staffed, worked with animal control to catch strays and treat injured dogs, etc, etc.
Most dog owners suck. No, most of your dog’s shitty behaviour isn’t “just being a dog”, it’s your lack of socializing them properly. It’s a result of your shitty behaviour.
