Flying cars is a fucking stupid idea.

-constant fear of some drunk driver flying 300kmph to your house -only useful for medium length journey

-has to be heavily controlled for safety, meaning you can only fly specific routes

-airspace of anything important is no fly zone, like airports, government buildings, ports, basically every city

-needs fossile fuel to fly, more than a normal ICE car

    -needs designated landing area

-needs city planning to be centered around them

    -unlimited potential for terrorists

-drivers would need specific license and training

Whoever is unironically shipping flying cars is a fucking moron and you can’t prove me otherwise, no matter if it technically works or not.

Flying cars are literally just helicopters. People need to be aware of what is being proposed here.

People would be backing into treetops and crashing down through people’s roofs. Chaos. If we think we have a complex air traffic control situation now, multiply that by 10,000.

Good idea lists move to less efficient personal transport so boomers can have their Jetsons wet dream. Fuck the planet!

People can’t even handle driving on roads without being idiots and assholes about it. Let’s keep them out of the sky.

As long as the operators get full rotary-wing commercial flying licences complete with annual physicals and certified log books, I’m fine with it.

I hope this never becomes viable in cities at least. Cars are already loud. Imagine how loud flying cars would be.

“The secret appears to be the ducted thrusters along the sides and rear of the Epiphany Transporter, which researchers at NASA’s Ames Research Center found in 2002

“We have every reason to believe in the ability of our proprietary, field-proven ducted thrusters, and leading-edge vehicle design, to perform in flight as expected,” Moshier, who is also the CEO and lead designer for the company, said.

I hope they don’t get too close to the Titanic…
