Please comment to let me (and everyone else) know if I should post some of the many gifs I have accumulated over the years. They almost always have text in the video showing the ingredients and their proportions, but I don’t have the actual text saved.
I like to post the text version of the recipe also, so I tend to avoid posting from my collection. But there are some great recipes in there.
I’m too lazy to transcribe them but if people seem to want them anyway hopefully someone will transcribe them for me. Also, you could search for the title and probably find the OP recipe on their website.
Side note: forgive the video attached to this poll. My app (possibly a requirement of my instance/lemmy as a whole) requires a URL or image/video in addition to the title. I guess text only posts aren’t allowed. Maybe it’s a community requirement considering the nature of this sub. Gifs only makes sense. So forgive me for this text post/poll. It’s in good faith to get more content here.
If there’s text or instructions in the gif, it’s not on you to provide transcription services if you don’t want to, or can’t.
If it doesn’t have instructions, then it isn’t a gif recipe, it’s just a gif of someone making something.
That’s my take.
Now, is it nice for a poster to give the community something more? Sure. If you’ve tried the recipe and have opinions about it, or corrections, or whatever, it’s definitely broly to add that in. It isn’t necessary though, and afaik, it isn’t a C/ rule, so it’s all good
What the actual fuck was that gif
That’s the only way to wash the jizz out
I thought it was a reverse sear.
I thought we were going to be wanting an NSFW tag on that. Glad we didn’t.
Regarding the video:
If I remember it’s a London broil roast that’s been seared to brown the outside.
The middle is then split to allow for the roast to be turned inside-out.
This allows you to stuff the roast with whatever ingredients you like, while also pre-cooking the inside so you don’t have raw meat in the middle next to the stuffing.
I would welcome all your gifs
No, the point of this /C/ is gifrecipe if you skip the recipe but it just becomes another random video community
Yeah, I’d be curious to see that. As long as the gif is good quality, you can usually pretty much figure out what’s going on.
Sometimes it takes a little research, but it’s worth it for a good recipe.
