This actually looks pretty good? Might be the first Ubisoft game in a long time that I’m interested in. Also very cool to see the gameplay video in an ultrawide aspect ratio.

    Thanks for posting it!

I gotta admit I got pretty hyped when she jumped in the ship and it actually took off, and was not just some way to hide a fast travel cut scene.

I’m also digging the vibes of that small town, looks like it could be good open world stuff. Very cautiously optimistic

Yeah the ground-to-space sequence was great. I wonder if that extended ~15 second duration where the ship is completely surrounded by fog is essentially hiding the game loading. If so, it’s very nicely done.

Yeah I’m interested to see how big the worlds are, how much freedom the player has, and if that freedom leads to any interesting gameplay like exploration.

It looks like there’s a little jank to work out still (physics and animation rate especially). I think the team behind The Division is very talented, but their setting and weapons have been relatively boring. Having them build a Star Wars game makes a lot of sense to me since those aspects are already well established and adored and they can just make a fun game with strong mechanics.

I think it was well executed for what it was, but that ultimately it was a real world location in a post-apocalyptic/collapsed state. Not particularly novel, and being grounded in reality, it’s all very same-y for lack of a better term.

Still loved the game for the time myself and my buddies got into it, but at some point, it just didn’t hold our interest. The game mechanics were very well designed, though, albeit somewhat overwhelming at times.

This looks surprisingly good. I’ve been pretty burnt out on the Ubisoft open world formula so hopefully this does something new. I’m not gonna get too hyped, but I’m hoping the reviews end up being positive so I can pick this up a bit after launch.

As with Starfield, I’m reserving my expectations for when these games release. The last couple years especially we’ve seen some extremely broken and busted games. Also the monetization aspect can totally ruin a game for me. I find it immersion breaking and it sucks the fun out of it. Is there a !cynicalgamers community?

This looks really good, but Ubi has always been good at world-building.

From this preview it reminds me of Ghost Recon Wildlands in a Star Wars universe.

Wow, so I’m a fan of Star Wars and Assassin’s Creed. This is right in my wheelhouse, and I’ve always enjoyed the open worlds that Ubisoft creates. It’s looking great so far and I’m way more optimistic after seeing this vs. after I saw the trailer yesterday.

I’ve always wanted a truly open world Star Wars game and found Fallen Order to be too closed off. Looking forward to this one next year. Just hoping there won’t be any delays, which have become far too common recently, but better a delay than a broken game at of launch.

Wow! This game actually looks really good. Hopefully it won’t be another mess of a game. This year has had a few hiccups. I also can’t really think of a recent Ubisoft game that I’ve looked forward to.

This one definitely has potential. Some stuff looks janky, but given that it launches in 2024 that’s totally normal and there’s still plenty of time to fix that. The graphics look amazing and there’s plenty of cool mechanics in the trailer already such as asking Nix to interact with all kinds of environment objects, the blaster modes, and the flying and speeder.

This is kinda what I hoped Survivor was going to be.

I’m on a pretty big downer with Jedi: Survivor. I had held off buying a PS5 till there were a few games I wanted to buy and eventually bought it with Survivor as my first game. What a disappointment. Just so buggy and I have quit playing half way through while we wait for them to fix the “Bounty” issue which has been going on for a month now and they done nothing to fix.

Its put a real dampener on the whole excitement of buying a PS5, rescued somewhat by Rift Apart and Marvel Avengers which I have surprisingly enjoyed.

I am probably a UBI mark though. I’ve played the entire AC franchise except for ACIII which is next on my list, I love Ghost Recon, (and there were HUGE ghost recon similarities) and I do generally enjoy Ubi games, so its not a surprise that straight away I saw familiar mechanics that appealed.

But yeh, it looks great. Only slight gripe was I hope that the space travelling aspects have 1st person/cockpit view a’la No Mans Sky rather than 3rd person. Ive always found 3rd person flight a bit janky

I don’t have a PS5, but would love one to play the last of us 2 and ghost of Tsushima. I’m happy to see Sony putting a lot of their flagship games on pc. I would assume those 2 are in the pipeline somewhere.

The Spider-Man games are also pretty great. A pretty solid catalog, especially when you compare the price of a PS5 to comparable pc hardware nowadays.

Fuck, this actually looks pretty good. I don’t want to be excited about a game in the Disney canon!

Ok this looks good, even if that’ll certainly be a classic Ubisoft game. But hey, that’s all I want from the first recent open world SW game
