Oh what a wild ride these past 3 months have been.
As I deepen my explorations of the #Fediverse and #foss projects I feel like I’ve become a new person.
As outlined in this post from last week, in early June I “only” had a Mastodon account: https://blog.elenarossini.com/fediverse-summer-3-lessons/
Fast-forward to mid-September and I now have 9 Fediverse accounts, I’m exploring Matrix and its bridges, I’m watching videos from #Fosdem and I say things like “Misskey is my Everest” (because most of its servers are in Japanese)
@[email protected] I was using Mastodon’s official Android app for a while. I tried a bunch of different third-party apps and didn’t like the UI. Lately, I have been trying Fedilab since it does both Mastodon and Friendlica. Now, I added Phanpy to my home screen on my mobile and also on my Linux and Windows PCs. It also runs very well in a sidebar of Vivaldi browser on Desktop. It’s the same experience across all platforms, and I love it!
Now if it also supported Lemmy, that would be so wonderful!!
@peterg75 @_elena Intrigued by various recent mentions of #Phanpy wrt #Friendlica, i tried it last week in one of my Linux pc browsers, with one of my Friendica accounts. I was very disappointed & abandoned the experiment quite soon, once i realised that it would cost me much of what i enjoy about Friendica when drafting posts, ie, the iconised formatting tools, & the preview window. Was i wrong; does Phanpy still support those & i’d somehow looked in the wrong place? 🤔🤷♀️
@msdropbear42 @peterg75 ah I only use Phanpy and mobile apps with Friendica to consume content (I.e. read my feed and reply to posts) but nothing matches the sophistication of the OG Friendica interface for formatting posts…
@_elena @msdropbear42 makes sense. I don’t use Frienlica much, so I’m not missing this functionality. My main fediverse service is Mastodon.
