Why would you say that when anyone can check the modlog and see it isn’t the case? You were banned from one community for one month.

ETA: Oh, sorry: two communities for one month, which happened two weeks apart.

hilariously they took a temp ban from /c/Linux, but just scrolling a little further they also just got a perm ban from NCD for " you don’t fit in here" because they mentioned the historical (and ongoing) American mistreatment of their indigenous population in a different thread

I guess just being russiophobic isn’t enough to fit in with those types

ML definitely plays games with the modlog. More than one of my bans never showed up there at all, and this was confirmed by other users on my instance who could still see my posts after the shadowban.

I was talking about the missing modlog entries. When you ban someone with the “Remove Conent” option, sometimes the post(s)/comment(s) don’t show up in the modlog. The only time we intentionally completely disappear (“purge”) something is if it is something objectionable in the extreme, like CSAM. Personally I’ve not yet needed to use it.

If users on other instances were able to see something that had been removed, that was because the removal request hadn’t propagated to their instances yet, or never arrived at all. We can’t make other instances remove things, we can only send requests that they do.

Too many people blocked hexbear so they made alt troll accts on .ml to continue being complete dickheads to everyone who doesn’t want them around, since their existence is entirely centered around evangelical style proselytizing of their views, mainly to feed their persecution complex, and that requires an unwilling audience. They still have their Hexbear accts I’m sure, but they’ll be maining the troll accts because they need their supply.

        • They still have their Hexbear accts I’m sure, but they’ll be maining the troll accts because they need their supply.

They should try attaching a tube from their asshole to their nose, then, so they can get high on their own supply.

I recently made the decision to unsubscribe from the vast majority of ML communities I was in. They’ve been getting a lot more obnoxious as of late, both in terms of the normal users as well as the mods getting more heavy-handed.

Honestly, I recommend everybody consider it for themselves, as well. If you have communities hosted on ML, it might be a good idea to start migrating elsewhere, because I see them quickly becoming defederated from a lot of instances soon with the way they’re progressing.

That’s right on schedule. There is a toxic mob that struggles to exist together (because they alienate themselves every time in a matter of weeks). They started on Reddit, originally collecting in chapostraphouse and got their community banned and each subsequent iteration has seen the same fate.

Then the fediverse was born and they began to self host. Now they couldn’t be banned. There was lemmygrad, then hexbear and .ml. Checkmate, right?

When more serious and honest hosts saw the pattern many enabled instance-blocking so we could eliminate the source as end users.

Most genuine folks I interact with have blocked lemmygrad and hexbear. The toxic cloud of chuds knows this and have been moving into .ml sublemmy and dispersing into smaller and smaller communities to evade being blocked by users.

It’s all quite interesting and funny if I’m being honest.

I wish I had a sociology degree, I’d publish so many fkn papers.

Just had someone from .ml that was so stupid and shortsighted that they think handing the election to Trump will lead to less genocide, not more. It is genuinely hard to tell sometimes whether they’re actual fifth columnists or just rabidly, genuinely fucking stupid; but either way, very funny to poke with a stick from time to time.

It might have been the same person. Given the strong favoritism to the CCP expressed by the instance operators, I’m not entirely unconvinced that such messaging isn’t intentional manipulation as part of the CCP’s election interference campaign (which from what I’ve seen favors Trump).

As I said, banned for unapproved opinion.

I do not support Ukraine because of being the most corrupt country, at the very least in Europe. I’ve also heard various people say they need to defend to protect the global banking system. Watch videos of citizens in Ukraine, nobody is getting a part of the $150 billion, it’s goijg into people bank accounrs.

If possible, I want Russia to lose and Ukraine to lose. It is a tyrannical gangster at war with mass corruption. Evil vs evil.

Ukraine certainly was one of the most corrupt nations in Europe. Pre-pandemic its CPI score was 30, placing it between Bolivia and Myanmar.

Russia scored 28 (ie, worse). So I’m not sure what outcome you expect from Ukraine losing. I’m also interested to hear if you think countries like Mexico, Nigeria or Cambodia, also below Ukraine in the ranking, are “evil” and don’t deserve statehood.

It’s better for the Ukrainian people that they be their own national state and not a satellite state. But I am not willing to trust Ukraine with any outside resources and gullibly believe they won’t be stolen from the people, like the billions of dollars being dumped on Ukrain, the people are still hungary and the soldiers don’t have weapons. Somone from outside has to clean up the Ukranian government in order to function for the private citizen.

I feel the same way about Haiti. The people need a mass amount of help, but any donations, whether food or money, is not staying in Haiti, so people have to go to Haiti to help, sending money will not make its way to help anyone.

And yes, I do think Mexican givernment is evil, Nigarian government is evil, but I’m all good with the people. Also, the American government is evil as well.

Ukraine isn’t the corrupt county you think it is. Even if it was, that hardly justifies an invasion.

Let’s be honest the real reason Putin invaded Ukraine is because he wanted a Russia controlled buffer between mainland Russia and the west.

What could possibly have led him to decide thats what would be best for the ruling class of his country? Did he or other members of the Russian government never express this sentiment? If they did, what were their reasons, and regardless of what those reasons were, why wasn’t enough done about them?

Honestly, he wants to return Russia to it’s ‘glory days’, which means back when it was an imperial power, and they could send tanks into Hungary to crush people protesting for democracy. When Ukrainians threw out their pro-Russian president, he saw that influence he wanted slipping away.

Ukraine is by far the most corrupt. The Ukranian government hav National Socialists in power. You might know them as Nazis. There are Ukranian officials who did kill Jews, and are now being honoured for the sake if the war against Russian. Politicians had hitmen that used chainsaws for executions. Up close and personal killings. Government of Ukraine is evil and corrupt, and the Ukranian people have always suffered because of their government, not because of Russia, pre-invasion.

I got a similar ban from that community after the moderator started spouting conspiracy theories at me and I didn’t agree with them. I noticed they removed most of my comments in that thread, but not all of them… Not sure if it was accidental, but the ones with non-negative karma were the ones that got removed.

This is also how I discovered a moderator that bans you from their community effectively prevents you from deleting any of your posts in it, which makes me feel… Uncertain about the ML mods having such control over the stuff its users post.
