      it’s linux in the same way that e-bike batteries are generally all just a bunch of identical cells wired together and put inside a hard plastic housing: Sure, if you pry open a battery and know what you’re doing you can totally muck around as you wish, but it’s the housing itself that really determines in what bike you can use the battery.

        ‘Does it use the Linux kernel?’ -Yes. Linux is a kernel, that’s the only question that needs to be asked and answered. It is Linux. Every Android phone runs Linux.

        Of course Android is not GNU+Linux. No one has claimed that it is, and if someone ever does claim that, they would be incorrect. So great news, you (singular) will not be made to call Android “GNU+Linux”!
