I’m the relatively new owner of an apartment/condominium unit, and it could use a paint job. While painting the walls doesn’t bother me, dealing with the edges against the floor/doorframes does.
It’s concrete for the walls, and plastered (I assume). What I’m now realising is between the floor/doorframes are what I assume are plaster stops/corner beads.
My question is what to do with them, if anything, a) to ensure a clean paint edge up against the door frame, b) to stop dust collecting under the edging against the floor (I would like skirting, but it’s a weird dynamic with that recess on every door frame)
Perhaps I could fill them, although I don’t know what with. Perhaps expanding foam? Although I’m not 100% clear on how I might paint that, or remove it if it ever needed rework
