    WTF to they mean “break away”, Google isn’t using Qualcomm modems in any Tensor. They’re using Samsung’s modem, the one that ships in various Exynos-based devices. And 4 generations of Pixel have been using Tensor.

    Hopefully the mediatek modem ends up being as reliable as the equivalent Snapdragon would have been. I’m generally leery of unproven tech

      They can easily handle gigabit 5g speeds if my friends’ speed tests using chinese phones with the mediatek systems says anything

    Probably wouldn’t sell the modems if they wouldn’t use their SOC
