I enjoy doing cross-stitch, and often do 8 bit and 16 bit characters. This would be very cool for taking pictures of things I like and using them to base my own own cross-stitch patterns on.
I’m sure I could… I’ve just never used anything like that to do anything like it.t that’s a really good idea, and probably what I’ll do now you’ve mentioned it. It didn’t occur to me. I’m sort of tech illiterate, tbh. I try to know enough to stay safe online, but honestly, mostly I only use the computer for school, Lemmy, research for hobbies or interests. I use the steam deck for games, when I get a chance. Apart from that, I’m mostly offline/not on the computer. It’s not, like, a conscious decision, I just never seem to be able to find the time to learn the things I should have learned years ago, and it sometimes feels like I missed my chance to be the person who gets it. Lol

Couldn’t you just use something like Gimp to pixelate the image?
yup, that would also give you control over pixel size and probably even dimension (maybe you want skinny pixels because that’s easier)
